In order for our Program of Work to succeed, membership involvement is needed. Listed are the various Chamber Committees. Please take a few minutes to find your areas of interest, then simply make note of the committees you wish to serve on and return the selection sheet to the Chamber office.

TOURISM AUTHORITY
Responsible for helping the community understand the economic impact tourism has in our town. Host receptions and FAM tours for travel writers, travel planners and other tourism related groups. Promotion and marketing of our community as a destination, and liaison to the Arizona Office of Tourism for co-op advertising programs. Increasing the public’s awareness of Wickenburg as a tourist destination. Promote shopping locally, plan co-op programs with various media for member involvement. Promote consumer service as top priority. Network with each other and help keep the dollar spend locally by knowing what can be purchased here in the community. Sponsor seminars and workshops for small business on timely topics.

FILM COMMISSION
Responsible for working with the film industry interested in our community. Film brochures and direct mail inquiries and potential prospects. Participate in state and national film symposiums. Prepare local “Services Directory” for the film professionals. Certified by State and International Film Industry.

TRANSPORTATION & TRAILS COMMITTEE
Assists local, state, and federal authorities in planning and providing for Wickenburg’s transportation needs.

DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE
To encourage the development of housing and economic opportunities by interacting with local, county and state agencies. By gathering researching and disseminating information to assist in responsible development of our community. Monitoring and producing comments and recommendations on the General Plan and other municipal ordinances & Procedures.

TELECOMMUNICATIONS TASK FORCE
ensures an affordable high quality telecommunications system for the businesses and residents of Wickenburg and new technology for tomorrow

MEDICAL SERVICES COMMITTEE
Facilitate informal discussions with our local Medical Community leaders on a quarterly basis.

MEMBERSHIP DEVELOPMENT
Continue to expand the membership base, develop a financial base to aid in achieving the Chamber goals. Greet new businesses already established here. Work on the annual “Chamber Week” in March and the one-day Membership Drive.

EDUCATION COMMITTEE
To encourage strong community interest in the school system. “Opportunities Days” for the Elementary School, and college prep workshops throughout the year for WHS Students. Assisting Guidance Department in finding local, state, and national scholarships for our students and forms for application. Community leaders available to help with admission applications, scholarship application, and resumes.

AMBASSADORS
Serve as official greeters for the Chamber and the business community at ribbon cuttings, ground breakings, and VIP events. They also recognize “Business of the Month” awards.

AD HOC ‘TALENT POOL’
No specific on-going assignment, but available for temporary committee work for brief periods to accomplish special tasks. Especially needed are volunteers to help man the Chamber office during the weekends and some weekdays.
PAST PRESIDENTS COUNCIL
To keep former president’s involved in special programs.

SAFETY COMMITTEE
Organized through our contract with State Compensation Fund.

GOVERNMENTAL AFFAIRS COMMITTEE
This committee reviews actions proposed by governmental bodies, including Town of Wickenburg, Maricopa County, State Legislature or Congress, and recommends policy positions to the Chamber’s Board of Directors. In Addition, Sets policy and determines positions on legislation for the Chamber. Keep updated on important issues-regulation, taxation, town planning, etc. Schedules one breakfast during the year with elected officials for roundtable discussion. Conducts “State of the Town” Luncheon with Mayor. Short, productive monthly meetings Interaction with Regional Legislative Alliance-North & West Valley. Review reports provided by Lobbyist through regional alliance. Participate in Chamber Legislative Day in January at the Capitol. Candidate and issue forums Town Council and School Board. Washingto, D.C. Legislative Trip with regional alliance group. E-Briefs on Congressional issues.Grass roots programs to involve business people in issues.
